How to split a PDF

  1. Add your PDF

Choose one PDF, up to 100 MB. Its pages appear as thumbnails.

  2. Choose a mode

Pick By page ranges, Every N pages or Select pages.

  3. Set the pages

For ranges, type something like 1-3, 5, 8-10. For every N pages, enter N. For Select pages, tap the pages you want.

  4. Split and download

You get one PDF if the result is a single file (selected-pages.pdf in Select pages mode), otherwise split-pdf.zip containing PDFs named like pages-1-3.pdf.

What you can do with this tool

  • By page ranges

Type ranges such as 1-3, 5, 8-10. Each range becomes its own PDF.

  • Every N pages

Enter N to cut the document into equal parts. N = 1 gives one PDF per page.

  • Select pages to extract

Tap the thumbnails of the pages you want. They go together into one new PDF.

  • Pages copied as they are

Pages are not re-rendered, so text stays selectable and quality is unchanged. Links inside a page are kept.

  • Stays on your device

Your PDF is not uploaded. Free, no sign-up and no watermark.

Frequently asked questions

How do I split a PDF by page range?

Choose By page ranges and type the ranges, for example 1-3, 5, 8-10. Each range is saved as its own PDF.

Can I pull out just a few pages instead?

Yes. Use Select pages here, or the Extract PDF Pages tool, which can also save each chosen page as its own PDF.

How do I split every page into a separate PDF?

Choose Every N pages and set N to 1. You get one PDF per page, packed into a ZIP.

Why did I get a ZIP file?

When the split produces more than one PDF, they are put in split-pdf.zip with names such as pages-1-3.pdf. If the result is a single PDF, you get it directly.

Does splitting change the quality?

No. Pages are copied as they are, so quality is unchanged and text stays selectable.

Are bookmarks and form fields kept?

Bookmarks are not kept, and fillable form fields may stop being fillable. Links inside a page are kept.

Can I split a password-protected PDF?

No. The tool refuses password-protected and encrypted PDFs, because they cannot be split in the browser. This includes PDFs that open without a password but have restrictions.

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. The PDF is split in your browser and is not uploaded. The tool accepts one PDF of up to 100 MB.
