How to print a PAN card on an A4 page

  1. Add the front, and the back if you have one

Choose a JPG, PNG, WebP or HEIC image, or a PDF such as your e-PAN. The back is optional, and a page with only one side works. If your PDF shows both sides on one page, press Use the same PDF page for the other side.

  2. Enter the PDF password if asked

For individuals, an e-PAN password is usually your date of birth in DDMMYYYY format. It is used only in your browser. For a PDF with several pages, use Previous and Next to choose the page.

  3. Crop and position the card

Use Crop & position to select the card area. For a PDF page, the crop starts on a card-shaped area the tool finds on the page; check it and adjust. You can rotate in 90° steps, and unlock the frame to crop freely.

  4. Choose card size and paper

Keep the standard 85.6 × 54 mm card size, or enter a custom width and height in mm. Pick A4 portrait or landscape, Top or Centre position, and the gap between cards.

  5. Check the preview

The live preview is drawn to scale. Each side shows an estimated DPI, with a warning if it may print blurry.

  6. Download or print

Download the PDF, or press Print to open it in a new tab. Print at Actual size or 100%, not Fit to page.

What you can do with this tool

  • Works with e-PAN PDFs

Add a page of a PDF and it is turned into a 300 DPI image. Password-protected files are supported, and the password never leaves your browser.

  • Back side is optional

Print just the front, or add the back as well. Either side can be left out.

  • Crop it yourself

Select the card area with a card-shaped frame, or unlock it to crop freely. You stay in control of exactly what is printed.

  • Standard or custom size

Use the standard 85.6 × 54 mm, or enter any width and height in mm if you want a different size.

  • Live preview and DPI check

The preview is drawn to scale, and each side shows its estimated print resolution, with a warning below 200 DPI.

  • Stays on your device

Everything runs in your browser. Nothing is uploaded and there is no sign-up. Location data (EXIF/GPS) is removed from embedded JPEGs.

Frequently asked questions

What is the size of a PAN card in mm?

We could not find an official size published on the Protean, UTIITSL or Income Tax pages we checked. This tool uses the standard 85.6 × 54 mm card size. Measure your card and use a custom size if it differs.

How do I print my PAN card on an A4 page?

Add an image or e-PAN PDF, crop the card with Crop & position, check the preview, then download the PDF or print it. The back side is optional.

Do I need the back of the PAN card?

No. The back is optional, so a page with only the front works. If the organisation asking for the copy wants both sides, add them.

Can I print my e-PAN?

Yes. Add the e-PAN PDF and a page of it is turned into an image at 300 DPI. Then crop the card area. If the file has several pages, use Previous and Next to choose one.

What is the password for an e-PAN PDF?

For individuals, usually your date of birth in DDMMYYYY format, for example 15081990 for 15 August 1990. Other types of holder may differ. The password is used only in your browser and is not stored.

I got my PAN through Instant e-PAN and have no physical card. Can I still use this?

Yes. The Income Tax Department says Instant e-PAN holders are not issued a physical card, because the e-PAN is a valid form of PAN. You can print the e-PAN PDF here. A printed copy is not the original e-PAN file, and whether a copy is accepted is decided by the organisation asking for it.

My PDF shows the card on one page. How do I crop it?

The crop starts on a card-shaped area the tool finds on the page, if it finds one; otherwise it starts in the middle. It is only a suggestion, so check it and adjust with Crop & position. If both sides are on the same page, press Use the same PDF page for the other side; it starts on the second card-shaped area.

Will the printed card be the actual size?

Yes, if you print at Actual size or 100% scale. Fit to page or Shrink to fit scales the whole sheet and the card will no longer match the size you chose.

Are my files uploaded, and is PdfDady a government site?

Nothing is uploaded: all processing happens in your browser, there is no sign-up, and the tool is free. PdfDady is independent and not affiliated with the Income Tax Department, Protean, UTIITSL or any government body. Share copies only with those who need them, whether or not they ask for self-attestation, and keep them safe, as the e-PAN's QR code may contain personal details.
