How to make a passport size photo
Add your photo
Choose a JPG, PNG, WebP or HEIC photo. Rotate it in 90° steps if it is sideways. Start with a photo taken against a plain white or light background in even light.
Pick a photo size
Choose 51 × 51 mm (2 × 2 inch), 35 × 45 mm, or enter a custom size between 20 and 100 mm.
Crop the photo
The crop frame is locked to the shape of the chosen size. Move the photo under it and use the centre line and head-height band as a guide.
Set up the sheet
Choose A4 or 4 × 6 inch photo paper, the number of copies, the gap between photos and whether to show thin cut lines.
Download or print
Download the sheet as a PDF or open it to print, choosing Actual size or 100% scale. Or download a single photo as a JPG.
What you can do with this tool
Common photo sizes
Presets for 51 × 51 mm (2 × 2 inch) and 35 × 45 mm, or a custom size from 20 to 100 mm.
Crop with guide lines
The frame stays locked to the chosen photo shape. A centre line and a band for head height help you place the face.
A4 or 4 × 6 inch sheet
Fill a portrait A4 sheet or 4 × 6 inch photo paper (102 × 152 mm) with copies. The tool shows the maximum number that fit.
Gap and cut lines
Adjust the gap between photos and turn on thin cut lines to make trimming easier.
Single photo as JPG
Save one photo as a JPG at 300 DPI of the chosen size, for example 600 × 600 pixels for 2 × 2 inch. The tool shows the pixel size and file size.
What it does not do
It does not remove or change the background, detect faces, adjust lighting or check whether a photo meets any requirement. Use a photo that is already suitable.
Stays on your device
Everything runs in your browser. Your photo is not uploaded, there is no sign-up, and the tool is free.

Frequently asked questions
How do I make a passport size photo online?
Add a photo, pick a size such as 51 × 51 mm or 35 × 45 mm, crop it using the guide lines, then choose a sheet and number of copies. Download the PDF to print, or save a single JPG.
What is the 2 × 2 inch photo size in mm?
2 × 2 inch is 51 × 51 mm. For example, the Embassy of India in the Netherlands specifies 2 × 2 inch colour photos with a plain white or off-white background, with the face covering about 70 to 80% of the photo. Other missions may differ, so check the one you are applying to.
Is 35 × 45 mm the Indian passport photo size?
35 × 45 mm is the international (ICAO) passport photo size used by many countries. We don't claim it is the official Indian passport size. Check the current Passport Seva or issuing authority guidelines before you print.
How do I print passport photos on A4 or 4 × 6 inch paper?
Choose A4 or 4 × 6 inch photo paper, set the number of copies and gap, then download the PDF or open it to print. In the print dialog choose Actual size or 100% scale so the photos keep their size.
How many photos fit on one sheet?
It depends on the photo size, the sheet and the gap you choose. You can pick from 1 copy up to the maximum that fits, and the tool shows that maximum for your settings.
Can I save a single photo for an online form?
Yes. Download one photo as a JPG at 300 DPI of the chosen size, and the tool shows its pixel size and file size. For example, the Indian e-Visa website (indianvisaonline.gov.in) asks for a JPEG with equal height and width, between 10 KB and 300 KB, with a plain light or white background. Check the current rules before you upload.
Does it remove the background or check my photo?
No. This tool does not remove or change the background, detect faces, adjust lighting or check compliance. Take the photo against a plain white or light background with even lighting, then use the guide lines to crop it.
Is my photo uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything happens in your browser and your photo is not uploaded. There is no sign-up, and the tool is free. PdfDady is not affiliated with any government body, and acceptance of your photo is decided by the authority asking for it.
