This adds an image of your signature. It is not a digital signature certificate (DSC) or Aadhaar eSign — check that the person you send it to accepts a signed copy like this.

How to sign a PDF

  1. Open your PDF

    Drag and drop one PDF, up to 100 MB, onto the page, or choose it. Password-protected PDFs are refused.

  2. Create your signature

    Draw it with a finger, pen or mouse, type your name in one of four handwriting styles, or upload a photo or scan of your signature on paper. Do the same for your initials if you need them. Pick black or blue ink.

  3. Choose a field

    Pick Signature, Initials, Date, Text or Check mark, then tap or click the page where it should go.

  4. Move and resize it

    Drag the item to move it and drag its corner to resize. You can also use the plus and minus buttons, or the arrow keys to nudge it (hold Shift for bigger steps).

  5. Repeat where needed

    Add as many items as you like on any pages. For a selected item you can copy it to all pages or to the last page, edit its text, or remove it.

  6. Download

    Download the result as signed.pdf. Check it before you send it.

  • Paper background removed

    For an uploaded photo, the paper background is removed automatically so only the ink is left. You can keep the ink's own colour, or use black or blue.

  • Signature, initials, date, text, check mark

    The date is in dd/mm/yyyy with a Today button, and you can edit it. The text field takes any line of text.

  • Place it exactly

    Choose a field, tap or click the page, then drag, resize, nudge with the arrow keys or delete it. Add any number of items on any pages.

  • Copy to all pages or the last page

    Initials on every page and a signature on the last one take a click each, instead of placing every copy by hand.

  • Original pages not re-rendered

    Text stays selectable and page quality is unchanged. Links, bookmarks and form fields are kept.

  • Kept only in memory

    Your signature is not saved or uploaded, and it is gone when you close the page. Free, no account and no watermark.

Frequently asked questions

How do I sign a PDF without printing it?

Open the PDF, create your signature by drawing, typing or uploading a photo of it, choose Signature, then tap or click the page where it should go. Resize and move it, then download signed.pdf.

Is a signature added with this tool legally valid?

We cannot say that, and it depends on your document and on who asked you to sign. This tool adds a picture of your signature to the page. It does not verify who signed, add a timestamp or create an audit trail. Whether a signed copy like this is accepted is up to whoever asked you to sign, so check with them. Indian law also excludes some documents, such as wills and trust deeds, from electronic signatures, so check the requirements for yours.

How is this different from a DSC or Aadhaar eSign? Is it "esign pdf"?

"Esign" is a common search phrase, but this tool is not an Aadhaar eSign and not a digital signature certificate (DSC). Those involve identity checks and a certificate from a licensed provider. This tool only places an image of your signature, initials, date or text on the page. If you were asked for a DSC or Aadhaar eSign, this tool will not meet that requirement.

How do I sign a PDF on my phone?

Open this page on your phone, add your PDF and draw your signature with your finger. You can also take a photo of a signature on paper and upload it, and the paper background is removed automatically. Then tap the page to place it and drag the corner to resize.

Can I sign every page?

Yes. You can add any number of items on any pages. Place your initials or signature once, select it, and use the option to copy it to all pages, or to the last page only.

Does it change my document?

It adds what you place and nothing else. The original pages are not re-rendered, so text stays selectable and page quality is unchanged. Links, bookmarks and form fields are kept. Stamping over a form field does not fill it in.

Why does my existing digital signature show as invalid?

A digital signature in a PDF is checked against the exact contents of the file. If the PDF already has one, the tool warns you that adding anything will make that signature show as invalid or changed. If that signature matters, do not add yours here. Have the other signers add theirs in the program that created the digital signature.

Is my signature stored or uploaded?

No. Your PDF and signature stay on your device. The signature is kept only in memory while the page is open, it is not saved, and it is gone when you close the page. There is no account, it is free and there is no watermark.

Can I sign a password-protected PDF?

No. Password-protected and encrypted PDFs are refused with a message. Remove the protection with the program you used to set it, then add the file again.

Can I ask other people to sign?

No. This tool signs your own copy only. It cannot send a document to other people, collect their signatures or keep an audit trail.
